“In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes” (Judges 21:25)
When men do what is right in their own eyes opposed to what is right in Gods eyes, judgement follows
Upon reading Judges Chapters 17-21, we see the consequences of men doing what is right in their own eyes— the children of Israel fell into idolatry, sexual sin, and violence
This was due to Israel not having a king at the time, but there is no excuse for us today because we have a King who reigns from everlasting to everlasting
However, foolish men reject the Son and foolish men are again doing “what is right in their eyes;” Worshipping idols, pursuing pleasure, and waging war against their own brethren. There is no fear of God before their eyes
Chaos and destruction will again ensue. The Lord will not be mocked
Nothing new under the sun…
